Wedding Company: Strides - Wedding Specialists - Chesterfield

I am getting married this august and i have been very happy with all the women there. So nice and friendly, really helpful and my dress has come in today for a fit and i am sure they will be just as helpful again. I got plenty of help with my dress and bridesmaides and for the shoes i will probably get my tiara there too! no problems so far! don\'t be put off by negative comments!...

I would like to say that I am getting married this August and have not experienced any of the problems/bad reviews mentioned below. Gill- in charge of Wedding Dresses was and is absolutely professional in her approach and nothing is too much trouble for her. I found her extremely helpful. Melvin in charge of the flowers is also very professional in his approach, and wherever possible will suggest cheaper alternatives if you have a tight budget. Please do not be put off by the bad reviews below....

I would say to any brides to be, Do not try on any dresses here. The assistance was rude and unhelpful. She acting like she couldnt bear to see me in my underwear. I had to remove all dresses from the hangers and replace them afterwards, which is very tricky (and nerve racking with £1k plus dresses!!!!). The lady refused to let me write down which dresses i liked so i could look them up and remember them again. I would say DONT BOTHER....

I wouldn\'t advise anyone planning a wedding to get your dresses from this shop. The service was disgraceful and **** needs a lesson in customer relations as she doesn\'t have a clue how to talk to paying customers. We had nothing but trouble with the dresses even though they were ordered 5 months before the wedding and 3 weeks before, we still didnt have the bridesmaid dresses. When they finally arrived after a lot of phone calls and going into the shop to complain the dresses did not fit and we were told it were our fault as the bridesmaid must have \"put on weight\". We eventually took the dresses elsewhere to be altered and spoke to more people who had experienced the same problems at strides. Wedding specialist?! I don\'t think so!...

I was going to use Strides for my flowers. I had a meeting with the man who deals with the flowers. A successful meeting or so I thought. he got me a sample which was not what I wanted. I asked for another 2 samples of roses which I was told would be at the shop within a week. I went to collect the flowers which were not there, he hadn\'t been able to get them but did not ring to tell me this. I persisted to ask when we would get the sample he said in a matter of days. I never got to see the samples and was told that they were happy with the original flower. I felt like they did not care that the original flower was not anything like I wanted. After another phone call where the flower man insulted me I demanded my deposit and went elsewhere. The florist I used found the rose I\'d requested immediately....

I am very dissapointed with strides, i have not felt that my big day is important now that my dress is paid for.My dress was ordered in the wrong size so i was told that that was my dress and they could not send it back and i have put weight on! They did in the end re-order me a different size and now it needs altering a little. I get married in 4 weeks and my dress has still not been altered....
